Russia is a proud nation. All these legends circling about cheap brides and girls that can be literally bought from a website cause them great upset. Not all Russian girls are scam artists – in fact the vast majority are totally legitimate and just like any other lady.

Markets today are open and people from the west are often sent for a business trip to Russia. Many international brands have settled their offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg or other big cities and men who visit them always come back home with stories of the fantastic women they have seen.

Indeed Russians are pretty and charming but many of them have learned that beauty is skin deep. They have been approached by many wealthy men but have learnt to recognize the symptoms of fake feelings. To start dating a local girl you should learn to keep your self esteem moderately high, be witty and charismatic.

There is a popular saying for the 3-second-contact. It works simply but effectively.

Walk towards the woman as if you are pretending to have internal dialogue: should I begin conversation, what can I tell her? Try to look like you do not want the girl to see you having this internal drama. Meanwhile surely you will be nervous but try not to send this mood to her. Do this for no more than three seconds!

Now you think that three is such a small number and that three seconds are nothing in this life but the human brain is able to process information with incredible speed. Do not forget that you are not making a 30 second video spot selling yourself, but only seeding the grains of impression.

Then, as if you have made up your mind all of a sudden, but not too close to her but close enough to be heard, tell her "Privet". Privet means hello in Russian and it is friendly way to start. Do not try to impress the woman with complicated words of lousy foreign phrases. Your accent in this Privet will show her that you are foreigner and will prepare her brain in a few milliseconds that something interesting is going to happen.

Most Russians speak at least one foreign language. English today is everywhere: from business correspondence to movies and hearing you she will become more motivated to listen to you; which logically will lead to better understanding.

Try to speak in Russian if you know any phrases. This will show her your respect towards native culture. Foreign languages are not easy and this will put two of you in the same boat in the sea of uncertainty. Most local people are friendly and for sure she will help you in your initiative. These three seconds have already proven to her that you are spontaneous, amiable and kind. It is a positive beginning of dating and a beautiful friendship.

Of course this is not an absolute rule. The lady might be engaged or have reasons to decline your chat offer. Another important thing you should know is that the 3-second-contact rule is really limited in time. Your three seconds start with the moment when you notice her and the way to her is clear. In this moment, you do not have time to explore her company too much or anyone else around.
